Something’s brewing… Moonhoney set to relaunch sparkling mead range. New design, new recipes and now in cans.

The team at Moonhoney Mead are as busy as bees preparing for the re-launch of their award-winning sparkling mead at The Old Warehouse in Kingsbridge’s ‘All Folkin’ Week Beer & Music Festival’ starting on 30th March.

Originally launched in July 2021, Moonhoney’s range of four sparkling meads provides a ‘Mead in Devon’ twist on the centuries-old traditional alcoholic drink made with honey and water and fermented with yeast.  Designed to be enjoyed like a cider or beer, lightly sparkling, alcoholic, gluten-free and available in four different flavours, the new mead range quickly received accolades and attracted fans both locally, and further afield via its online sales.

Initially based at Moonhoney’s premises in nearby Loddiswell, the meadery moved to its new home at The Old Warehouse in Kingsbridge in July 2022, where it has since been concentrating on producing small batch meads, available exclusively on tap to enjoy in the taproom, plus special edition meads, including the award-winning Mulled Mead, which was available to drink in-house over the festive period or take away to enjoy at home. With the meadery now fully re-established, the team has been working hard to increase production to supply the taproom plus market their range of meads to a wider audience, including updating and improving the original products.

The re-launched sparkling mead range includes four flavours – Classic, Ginger, Mixed Berries and Hopped – and features new and improved recipes, a fresh new design and packaged in cans for improved sustainability and distribution.  Made and sold on the premises, it couldn’t be more local!  The new range will also be available to buy online and at selected local retailers.

Moonhoney’s sparkling mead will be relaunched on Saturday 30th March with products from the new range available to drink in-house or to buy to take away.

Brewers, Sam and Tom, will be available during the day for Tasting and Meet the Brewers sessions.  There will be live music from acoustic guitarist Joe Dostal, folk duo Fly Yeti Fly and popular covers band Three’s Company from 12.00pm -11.00pm, plus a special ‘festival’ food menu, available between 12.00pm – 8.00pm, featuring TOW classics and customer favourites.

Sam Jones, Moonhoney’s Co-founder and Head Brewer commented
