Craft rum specialists Devon Rum Co are celebrating this week, having been named double Taste of the West Gold Award Winners for their Premium and Honey Spiced Rums.

Launched in March 2020, the Totnes-based brand provides a unique range of small-batch spiced rums that celebrate the true spirit of Devon.

Their award-winning drinks are handcrafted using a bold blend of Caribbean rums from some of Jamaica and Guyana’s most prestigious distilleries. These exotic flavours are then refined with crisp Devon spring water and a unique infusion of aromatic spices and citrus zest. The result is a range of thirst-quenching spirits that are making waves in the emerging craft rum sector.

On accepting the brand’s brace of awards, Devon Rum Co Founder Dave Seear said: “We are thrilled to have been named double Taste of the West Gold Award winners in the wine, spirits and liqueurs category! It’s a real honour to have our Premium and Honey Spiced Rums recognised by such a highly regarded organisation.”

These new awards mark yet another milestone for the rising rum brand, which only recently announced the launch of their second flavour – an exquisite honey blend made with locally-sourced flower honey from Quince Honey Farm in North Devon.

“We’ve been blown away by the support we’ve seen over the last year,” added Seear. “It seems now more than ever there is a true desire to support independent and local businesses, and we can’t wait to entertain the craft rum community with more great products and campaigns in the future.”

To celebrate their new award-winning status, Devon Rum Co will be proudly displaying accredited Taste of the West Gold Award stickers on their 70cl Premium and Honey Spiced bottles over the coming months.
