Local food and drink gifts for a taste of Christmas in Devon
The best food gifts begin with the recipient. Do they always order something sweet, love a sharing board, or would they enjoy a foodie experience?
For the sweet toothed: Edward’s Fudge Kitchen and Flapjackery
Dartmouth-based Edward’s Fudge Kitchen makes traditional crumbly fudge in small batches. Their gift boxes make lovely stocking fillers or sweet treats to share after Christmas lunch.
Tavistock-based Flapjackery’s Christmas range features delicious seasonal flavours such as Florentine and Mince Pie. Their Luxury Winter Warmer Treat Box pairs gluten-free flapjacks with hot chocolate stirrers, made for cosy evenings, while a create-your-own box lets you choose your favourites.
For the savoury snacker: Good Game
Based in Topsham, Good Game produces artisan charcuterie, including venison salami, chorizo and coppa, and offers charcuterie gift packs. This is a tempting choice for the person who would happily swap pudding for another savoury course. Add handwritten serving suggestions for a sharing-board feast to make the present feel especially thoughtful.
For the drinks enthusiast: Sandridge Barton
For wine lovers, explore Sandridge Barton’s Devon-grown still and sparkling wines. A bottle from the Dart Valley gives you something to talk about when it’s opened, as well as something to toast with. They also offer fantastic guided winery tours and wine tastings, which make thoughtful gifts too.
