New Winter Menu to Warm Your Cockles at The Venus Beach Cafes

There’s nothing quite like taking a brisk, bracing walk on a South Devon beach to chase away the winter blues, followed by a visit to one of the famous Venus Beach Cafes, where you’ll find a warm welcome from the friendly staff and four-legged friends will be greeted with a bowl of fresh water and dog treat.

The Venus beach cafes at Bigbury-on-Sea and Broadsands in Paignton are now serving their new wholesome winter warmers menu.  From a hearty full-English breakfast, nutritious and delicious lunch options including the classic Venus toastie melt; thick-sliced crunchy sourdough toasties with cheddar cheese and filling are offered daily.

With inside and outside seating, you can watch the world go by with a selection of home-made sponge cakes which are an indulgence for any time of the day. Make sure you try the NEW coffee and walnut sponge which will melt in your mouth and leave you wanting more!  AND Venus Mince Pies are back!

For a lighter option choose a warming and nourishing home-made soup from the specials board.  The ever-popular and tasty Venus classics are also featured including the return of our famous Devon beef chilli, and a vegan option jam-packed with vegetables, both served with turmeric and onion basmati rice.

Daily specials will also be on offer with some heart-warming dishes and tasty meals such as our Cafe de Paris burger, Crab bisque, and our fabulous hand-made creamy fish pie with pollock and smoked haddock, topped with buttery mashed potato and cheddar cheese.  And not forgetting the younger visitors, our new children’s meals cater to every taste, providing quality products for growing kids.

For fish and seafood lovers wanting the taste of the sea, our Broadsands cafe always has some oven-baked fresh fish daily including locally caught sardines, mackerel, and Torbay sole.   All our fish specials are served with French fries or home made bubble & squeak, garnished with wakame seaweed salad, and garlic mayo slaw.

Winter opening times:

Bigbury-on-Sea: 10 am – 5 pm on weekdays and 9 am on weekends.

Broadsands, Paignton: 9 am – 5 pm daily.
