Salcombe Distilling Co. (SDCo.) is delighted to announce the opening of a new retail store in the coastal town of Dartmouth. Located in a prominent waterside position on the South Embankment overlooking the Quay, the Salcombe Distilling Co. store opened its doors to the public on Saturday 17th July and will extend their Gin Refill Scheme.

Howard Davies, Co-Founder and Director of Salcombe Distilling Co. comments: “Creating an additional SDCo. store right in the heart of Dartmouth has been a long-held dream of ours. Dartmouth has a longstanding reputation as being a destination for fine dining, and we are thrilled to be nestled amongst the likes of the Seahorse and the Angel, overlooking this iconic harbour.”

Howard continues: “Visitors and locals can now sample and purchase our award-winning range of Salcombe Gin, Salcombe Gin Voyager Series, non-alcoholic ‘New London Light’ and Salcombe Rum in this beautiful historical building. It’s a fantastic space with stunning views across Dartmouth harbour and we pride ourselves on our exceptional service.”

Open 7 days a week between 10:00am and 6:00pm daily the new SDCo. store will offer a Gin Refill Scheme.  When returning a 70cl bottle of Salcombe Gin ‘Start Point’ or ‘Rose Sainte Marie’ to the Salcombe or Dartmouth store for a gin refill, SDCo. will offer 10% off the retail price.

Salcombe Distilling Company is passionate about protecting and maintaining the precious ocean environment that inspires and influences everything they do. From June 2021 until the end of the year, SDCo. will donate 1% of ‘Start Point’, ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ their award-winning gin and ‘New London Light’ their non-alcoholic spirit to help rewild the oceans and sequester carbon in parallel, while vigorously reducing their carbon footprint.

SDCo. have partnered with the Marine Conservation Society in the UK to help protect and regenerate ocean forests. Seagrass meadows account for 10% of the ocean’s carbon sequestration and are hugely important in the battle against climate change. For each bottle that SDCo. sell in the UK, up to 2m2 of seagrass will be protected and regenerated.

As part of their mission to reduce their carbon footprint, SDCo. is working hard to launch meaningful initiatives to ensure that they minimise their impact on the environment whilst making the most positive contribution to improve the health and wellbeing of the oceans. SDCo. is very ambitious in all that they do and their commitment to the ocean is no exception. They will continue their voyage to a sustainable future and hope to lead the journey for other brands in the industry.
