Plymouth-based Yarde Farm Ice Cream has won a major accolade at the prestigious British Frozen Food Federation 2020 Annual Frozen Food Awards. Its Blackcurrant & Clotted Cream Ice Cream has scooped the award for the Best New Dessert/Ice Cream/Confectionery Product.

The brand produces premium ice cream and specialises in foodservice and ice cream retail. The awards recognise the best frozen food products within these categories and are judged by panels of independent consumers from across the UK. This brings the Yarde Farm tally of successes to over 70 awards within the industry.

Managing director Mike Gilson commented: “We are thrilled to have been recognised, yet again, for our ice cream and we are delighted that Yarde Farm’s reputation for manufacturing premium dairy ice cream and sorbets has been reinforced with this prestigious award.

“We’re extremely proud of our loyal and skilled team who create our amazing ice cream and sorbets. As Yarde Farm’s reputation continues to grow nationally, regionally and locally, the future looks set to be very exciting.”

Yarde Farm is based in Plympton, Devon where it employs 18 people and is ‘A’ grade accredited to the BRC Global Food Standard. Its ice cream is made with the finest ingredients, including fresh double cream, creating a variety of sumptuous flavours. It is also a well-respected member of the Ice Cream Alliance which promotes artisan dairy ice cream makers.

Ice cream output at the factory is regularly 55,000 litres per week. There are over 40 delicious ice creams to choose from, including innovative flavours such as Unicorn, a strawberry ice cream with blueberry ripple and white marshmallows, Reese’s Peanut Butter, Black Forest Gateau, Popcorn and Lotus Biscoff all being offered at ice cream parlours, restaurants and cafes all across the UK.
