Brand new Farmshop & Deli opened by The Plot Catering Co, in heart of Newton Abbot

Better known as award winning event caterers and champions of local producers, The Plot have opened their own farmshop and deli in Union Steet, Newton Abbot, which looks like it’ll be just as community minded and ethically aware as their catering business.

“Opening The Plot Deli gives us the opportunity to really champion the things that we use in our cooking, whilst continually discovering new and exciting products and introducing them to the local community in Newton Abbot.”
… says Chef and owner Kris Hanson. He opened the doors in October and has big plans for the space…
“Everything we stock in the deli is from the south west and 95% is from Devon. We have an awesome selection of fresh pies, pastries, cakes, cheeses, and plant based milks from Rerooted. Amazing local spirits, beers and ciders, and loads of exciting flavours of jams and chutneys from producers across the county. For the heat lovers we have some exciting chilli based products. We also have an fantastic range of Christmas foodie gifts.”

Food Drink Devon loves a collaboration between our members and we’re pleased to report that The Plot stocks a huge number of products from local artisan producers such as Thunderflower Gin, Devon Cove Vodka, Ebb Tides Seaweed, Bar Buoy Cocktails, Stones Honey, Figgy’s Puddings, Devon Sea Salt, Bell & Loxton, Boo Chi Kombucha and more. It’s a treasure trove of local products and they’re always on the lookout for others to work with.

The Plot Lounge is already being put to good use with The Talking Shop, every Thursday between 10am and 2pm. Anyone is welcome to come along and just have a chit chat with free tea and coffee available.

The Lounge will also be used to showcase the work of local artists with digital art nights, showing famous artists from around the world talking online about their creations.

Kris and the team will also be hosting some intimate pop up dining and cocktail nights at The Plot throughout next year, but seats at these will be like gold dust and there’s a lot of interest already so Kris recommends anyone interested to get in touch or follow them on Facebook.

But first Christmas – and Newton Abbot late night shopping on Wednesdays during December.

See you there!
