The Meadfoot Bay is excited to launch their own gin, in time for World Gin Day.

Named after the rock that marks the entrance to Meadfoot Beach, Shag Rock has been developed in conjunction with award-winning distillers of Thunderflower (Teignmouth), The gin includes botanicals (sea buckthorn, wild sorrel, fennel amongst others) found around the area of the Meadfoot Beach.

Shag Rock uses vapour infusion to gently extract the flavour from their chosen botanicals, producing a smoother tasting spirit. The use of one shot distillation means what you get is simply the result of the infusion process, apart from the pure Dartmoor water which is used to dilute the spirit. After distillation the gin to rest for several weeks before bottling by hand and numbering each bottle. The process is measured and unhurried to ensure consistent quality with every distillation. The result is a landmark gin in every sense.

Served with Fever Tree Aromatic tonic and a generous slice of orange it is enticingly moreish! And it forms the basis of a fabulous Negroni too.

More info can be found on their website www.shagrockgin.com or if you’d like a chat please call Phil on 07768 664872.
