Park Life Heavitree is a local charity started over 10 years ago by three local families with a heart and mission for bringing people together in their local green space.

Since the charity was founded in 2010, a growing team of passionate volunteers have given thousands of hours to organise regular events in the park throughout the year, including popular Street Food evenings every Thursday and Friday.

Early on in the charity’s history, the team spotted a need for people to have a place they could eat, drink and meet together in the park. So they dreamt big and over many years worked to design, fundraise and ultimately build a purpose built facility which now sits proudly in Heavitree Pleasure Ground.

The Park Cafe and Hub features a hireable hall space and a cafe which caters for up to 50 internal covers together with covered outdoor seating and a takeaway hatch for park goers! The cafe and hub project is a central part of Park Life Heavitree’s overall aim to bring people together from all walks of life, reducing social isolation and creating community cohesion. Within the same building is a hireable hall space – Park Hub – designed as a multi purpose space with its own kitchenette, available for local groups to rent on an hourly basis.

The Park Cafe offers an ever changing menu of seasonal, affordable, freshly made local and sustainable food and drinks. From fresh pancakes, granola and Park Life’s take on a full English available for breakfast to sourdough stacked sandwiches, salads and filled croissants for lunch, there are mouthwatering options for all including children. Oh and of course a decent cup of coffee!

Street Food Evenings

On Thursday and Friday evenings from 4pm – 8pm, two local street food operators base themselves outside the cafe offering fish and chips (Thursday) and wood fired pizzas (Friday). These can both be washed down with drinks including alcohol available from Park Cafe.
