Devon-based Sea Arch Drinks has been shortlisted in the inaugural Ocado Rising Stars Awards, as one of only three finalists in the Best Low & No Alcohol Product category.

Voting is now open for the public to select their favourite, with the winner being announced at the Ocado Rising Stars Live event on 29 April.

Sea Arch is part of the Taste of the West range of South West food and drink being sold on Ocado, the online grocery retailer with the widest range of products in the market. Its non-alcoholic Sea Arch Coastal Juniper blend spirit and ready-to-drink Sea & T cans have been listed with Ocado since early December and are proving very popular, with customer reviews including “Best gin substitute I’ve found” and “Surprisingly delicious!”

Sea Arch Drinks co-founder Sarah Yates says, “To be nominated by Ocado for their Rising Stars Awards means such a lot to us. Although a relatively young brand, we are very ambitious, and getting this kind of national recognition is a great boost. It’s always lovely to get positive feedback from our customers and distributors, and we hope people will really get behind us and vote for Sea Arch!”

John Sheaves, Chief Executive of Taste of the West, says, “We are so pleased to see our latest recruit being shortlisted by Ocado. It is testament to the hard work put in by Sea Arch in developing such a fabulous product that we are seeing it being recognised like this. We are so proud of Sea Arch for being yet another fantastic West Country producer that we represent at Taste of the West and we urge everybody to vote for them in these awards. Fingers crossed at the ceremony later this month.”

The Ocado Rising Stars Awards celebrate the online grocer’s small, independent food and drink suppliers. People are encouraged to vote for their favourite products at ocadorisingstarsawards.com, with voting closing on 23 April. The winning company will receive a marketing support package with Ocado, plus everyone who votes is entered into a prize draw to win a year’s supply of Ocado shopping.

Rose Price, buying director at Ocado Retail, says, “We’ve always been so proud at Ocado to champion small brands and provide those just starting out with a much-valued entry to market. The newly launched Ocado Rising Star awards not only supports up and coming brands but encourages our customers to vote for, and buy products from our brilliant smaller and independent brands.”

Inspired by the Devon coastline and bursting with seaside botanicals, Sea Arch is a crisp, complex and deliciously fresh alcohol-free spirit that doesn’t compromise on taste or experience. It is made from a blend of 11 different botanicals, with the resulting distilled spirit providing a genuine non-alcoholic alternative for gin lovers.
