mexico coffee from voyager

Voyager Coffee, known for sourcing from sustainable farms and hand roasting every batch on the edge of Dartmoor, has launched its latest single origin coffee: San Mateo from Mexico.

This coffee highlights the remarkable coffee-growing traditions of the country while shining a light on important challenges at origin.

With notes of crisp white wine and muscovado sugar, San Mateo delivers a medium roast with a syrupy body, balanced acidity and a touch of cacao to give it a full mouthfeel.

This washed coffee originates from San Mateo, Yoloxochitlán, where steep terrain and misty forests create the perfect environment for growing exceptional coffee.

Despite facing significant challenges, such as low yields and limited resources, the smallholder farmers behind San Mateo continue to grow coffees with unmatched complexity and depth.

Sourced by Raw Material coffee, they partner with producers in Oaxaca to improve profitability and sustainability. By paying well above market rates and offering quality bonuses, they have helped increase incomes by up to 10 times, providing essential support to marginalized farmers. Their meticulous sourcing process involves individually cupping and evaluating microlots, finding high quality and complex coffees that may have otherwise been lost.
