Acclaimed artisan ice cream maker, Granny Gothards has collaborated with Two Drifters carbon negative rum distillery to create an outsanding new rum and raisin flavour, made right here in Devon.
The collaboration brings together two award-winning local businesses who both use only the finest natural ingredients and put sustainability at the very heart of their operations.
Two Drifters, created by husband-and-wife team Russ and Gemma Wakeham, makes premium rum from scratch, in their cutting edge, all-electric rum distillery near Exeter.
Granny Gothards, founded by Amanda Ringelberg, has been making luxury artisan ice cream and sorbet for 15 years with over 190 flavours available for top chefs and restaurants all over the world.
The process for making real ice cream is simple and hands on, but the luxury and depth of flavour comes from the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail. Raisins are soaked in rum for 48 hours, the freshest local milk and cream are mixed with more Two Drifters Premium Spiced Rum, top quality egg yolks and sugar before being churned into ice cream in small batches in the dairy in Willand, near Cullompton. No additives, no colourings, no extra air, just pure natural ice cream and exceptional flavour.
Watch out for Rum and Raisin on a menu soon, or order from the Granny Gothard's website for home delivery. Exprience the pop of those real rum-soaked raisins for yourself!
