The Curator is a long established and well loved independent coffee roastery and bakery based in Totnes... and they've just expanded into Plymouth Pannier Market.
Co-founders Sarah and Matteo always believed that the best places are built around community, so when the opportunity arose to become part of the iconic Plymouth Market, it felt like a natural fit.
Plymouth Market has 'community' in abundance. It's a place where people come not just to shop, but to meet, discover and spend time with independent businesses, all under one roof.

The 'feel' of the market
In Plymouth market today, our caffè sits amongst an incredible mix of food producers, retailers and makers, each bringing something different to the space.
Rather than competing with one another, the market creates an environment where businesses complement each other. Visitors might come for a coffee, stay for lunch, pick up flowers, browse local produce and leave having supported several independent businesses in one visit.
One of the things we love most is the sense of collaboration. Being surrounded by passionate business owners creates conversations, ideas and opportunities that simply don't happen when you're tucked away on a traditional high street.
A forgotten piece of market history
Opening in Plymouth Market has also allowed us to become part of the city's story. During our refurbishment, we uncovered a hidden mural painted by local artist Gez Taylor over 40 years ago.
With the support of the Lomax family and Gez himself, we were able to restore this forgotten piece of Plymouth's history, giving it a new home within our caffè. It has become a real talking point, reconnecting many visitors with childhood memories of the market and its past.

We're open Monday to Saturday, 8am–3pm, serving our wood roasted coffee alongside fresh pastries, cakes, sandwiches, sourdough and pizza from our Totnes bakery.
