The team at Gidleigh Park is celebrating having retained two Michelin Keys, alongside securing multiple awards from AA Hospitality, including five AA Red Star Inspectors’ Choice for the hotel and three AA Rosettes for its restaurant, as well as holding an AA Breakfast award.
The AA Hospitality Awards 2026/7 were announced at a glittering ceremony at Grosvenor House in London on Monday 21 September and Gidleigh Park’s five AA Red Stars Inspectors’ Choice award denotes the hotel as within the very best hotels in the UK – there is no higher accolade from the AA, with the award given for exceptional excellence, outstanding hospitality, and superior comfort.
In addition, Executive Head Chef Ian Webber was awarded three AA Rosettes, awarded to ‘outstanding restaurants that are worth planning a trip around’, with the AA also stating, ‘these are serious dining destinations – places you travel for, book ahead for, and remember long after the meal ends’.
Also recognising the most outstanding hotels in the UK and Ireland, and across the world, Michelin Keys were announced on Friday 18 September, awarded to hotels that offer truly exceptional stays. Awarding Gidleigh Park two Michelin Keys, which denotes ‘an exceptional place to stay’, Michelin commented about the hotel: “Gidleigh Park is something a little bit different… bedrooms seamlessly marry classic style with modern functionality… it’s got all the positive character of a proper old house… the grounds offer croquet, tennis, a putting green and plenty of gardens, and beyond is Dartmoor, home to some of the South’s wildest landscapes”.
For those who would like to treat themselves to a stay, an overnight stay at Gidleigh Park this autumn starts from £247 per room, two sharing including breakfast, and the restaurant is open for dinner Tuesday – Saturday, with a five course dinner £135pp, or seven courses £165pp. Visitors are also welcome for a casual lunch any day from the Country House menu, or for afternoon tea, or simply a drink and a stroll around the estate.
