April to Dec: eat:Festivals
A series of over 40 family-friendly food festivals which bring the best local food and drink producers together in town centres across the west country. Buy local food and drink direct from the producers and makers, and chat to them about their products, in a safe, welcoming, outdoor environment. Dog friendly, fully accessible, and always with a wide range of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. Click on the header for full listing.
May
1st & 2nd May: Toby’s Garden Festival
As well as all things gardening, Toby Buckland curates a high quality range of local food and drink in the Castle Courtyard, plus street food, and fascinating foodie talks and wine tastings in the Food Drink Devon theatre at his festival at the glorious Powderham Castle in Starcross.
3rd May: Salcombe Crab Fest
Crabfest is a vibrant showcase for the local fishing, food, drink and tourism industries at the heart of the unique area, and an excellent opportunity for seafood lovers to get together and crack open some fine tasting crabs. Cookery demonstrations by award-winning chefs, crab picking masterclasses, crab pot making, live music, producer stands, kids activities and much more!
21st - 23rd May: Devon County Show
During this spectacular three-day show, visitors will be treated to the best of food, farming and entertainment! Visit the Food Drink Devon space in the Food and Drink Pavilion for some artisan treats.
24th May: Clovelly Seaweed Festival
Seaweed Festival is held to promote seaweed for its immense health and nutritional benefits. In a multitude of colours, textures, shapes and sizes, it is tasty, full of minerals, fibre without calories and is the best salt substitute. It is a very informative event, with activities suitable for all to enjoy including talks, craft activities, demonstrations and workshops.
29th - 31st May: Flavour Fest, Plymouth
Foodie fans are in for a treat this year as Flavour Fest will be returning to Plymouth once again. Known as the south west’s largest free food and drink festival, it features hundreds of local producers selling tasty treats and a chef stage with regional cookery stars showcasing their skills.

9th - 12th July: Exmouth Festival
Free arts festival with music, theatre, arts, circus and lots of street food and local producers.
9th - 12th July: Totnes Fringe Festival
Not strictly food and drink, but sponsored by legendary Ben's Farm Shop this weekend will celebrate Totnes and the power of theatre to entertain and inspire - with plenty of opportunities to eat, drink and be merry around Totnes' many independent cafes, bars and restaurants.
25th July: The Mid Devon Show
Get ready for a rip-roaring time as you soak up the best of rural Mid Devon! With a mix of dazzling entertainment, scrumptious food, unique shopping, live music, vibrant horticulture, and a peek into farm life, the Mid Devon Show is the ultimate celebration of all things Devon at Knightshayes .
26th July: Totnes & District Show
The Totnes Show is over 100 years old and one of the biggest shows in the county. Foodie highlights include a food and drink village and a chef demonstration kitchen.
29th July: Yealmpton Agricultural Show
From a countryside marquee to a wide variety of exhibitors and local producers, cakes and handicraft to diggers and tractors, there is plenty at Yealmpton Show for everyone regardless of age to enjoy.
August
5th Aug: North Devon Agricultural Show
The North Devon Show is a traditional one day show and is a celebration of all things rural and has something for everyone. The main aim of the show is to support agriculture and to provide a shop window for anyone involved in the economy of North Devon.
6th Aug: Honiton Show
The show has a unique atmosphere blending traditional and new where its emphasis is agriculture and its associated activities first and foremost. It is a showcase for the best of local farming, produce, crafts and rural skills.
6th - 8th Aug: Buckfast Abbey Summer Fair
A fantastic three-day fair filled with fun and entertainment for everyone. Browse a variety of local artisan crafts, delicious food and drink, family-friendly activities, and plenty of opportunities to spend time with loved ones, this event has something for everyone. Free to attend. Paid parking.
9th Aug: Bude Food Festival
This summer version of the festival (the spring versiom is in April), combines an artisan food market and a selection of street food in the beautiful setting of the castle grounds. Locally sourced sausages, breads, cakes, sauces, gin, local beer and cider and more.
15th Aug: Love Local Festival Exeter
Hosted by the team behind Greendale Farm Shop, Exeter Castle courtyard will once again be filled with flavour. You'll find some of Devon's favourite street-food vendors, foodie experiences, live music, a bar, al fresco cocktails, talks and demos... and lots of stalls featuring some of the best local food and drink producers around. Free to attend.
13th Aug: Okehampton Show
Set on the northern edge of the beautiful Dartmoor National Park, this traditional agricultural show boasts a wide range of prize winning animals, delicious local food & drink, plenty of shopping, displays, childrens’ entertainment and much more.

5th Sept: Bovey Festival
Visit Bovey Tracey Food, Drink & Craft Festival, and savour delicious local produce, discover unique handcrafted goods, and immerse yourself in Devon’s vibrant community of artisans and producers. Meet passionate food producers, talented chefs, and creative artisans from across the region.
5th Sept: Kingsbridge Agricultural Show
With its far-reaching views of gentle rolling South Hams countryside down towards the sea, visitors will enjoy many attractions, not least the exhibition of livestock and horse classes, home craft and horticulture sections too. There is a food & drink tent where exhibitors offer a variety of locally produced foods to create your own picnic.
12th Sept: Ashburton Food Festival
A celebration of food, community, and wellbeing.
This year the festival is back with another great line-up of local flavours, insightful conversations and entertainment for all ages. Welcoming over 50 traders and street food stalls, music, performance, workshops and some amazing community groups and local organisations.
12th - 20th Sept: Taste East Devon Festival
East Devon’s best producers, chefs, restaurants and venues join forces each September to create the Taste East Devon Festival, showcasing the best that our region has to offer in a series of unique food and drink experiences. From farm feasts to brewery open days, seafood tasting experiences to BBQs and parties: some events are ticketed, some are open freely for all.
17th - 20th (TBC) Sept: Abbfest
Every year Abbfest hosts a wonderful weekend full of live music, locally produced beer and cider, chef demonstrations and a food and craft market full of local artisan producers. At Isaac’s Field next to Fermoy’s Garden Centre. Newton Abbot.
21st Sept - 4th Oct: England's Seafood FEAST
For seafood lovers, there’s no better place to be this autumn than England’s Seafood FEAST, a two-week celebration of our world-class, locally landed seafood. Taking place across the English Riviera - Torquay, Paignton, Brixham - this event showcases the finest, freshest catch, straight from the boats to your plate.
