These family-friendly food festivals bring the very best westcountry food and drink producers and artisans together in town centres across Devon, but also Somerset, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Wiltshire, Dorset and Cornwall. Buy local food and drink direct from the producers in a safe, welcoming, outdoor environment.
Dog friendly, fully accessible, always a wide range of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, alcohol free and entertainment.
3rd & 4th May: Toby’s Garden Festival
As well as all things gardening, Toby Buckland curates a high quality range of local food and drink, street food and foodie talks in the Food Drink Devon Pavilion at his festival at Powderham Castle.
5th May: Salcombe Crab Fest
Crabfest is not just an excellent opportunity for seafood lovers to get together and crack open some fine tasting crabs. More than that, Crabfest has become a vibrant showcase for the local fishing, food, drink and tourism industries at the heart of the unique area.
Enjoy hands-on cookery demonstrations by award-winning chefs, crab picking masterclasses, crab pot making, live music, kids activities and much more!
16th –18th May: Devon County Show
During this spectacular three-day show, visitors will be treated to the best of food, farming and entertainment! Visit the Food Drink Devon space in the Food and Drink Pavilion for some artisan treats.
26th May: Clovelly Seaweed Festival
Seaweed Festival is held to promote seaweed for its immense health and nutritional benefits. In a multitude of colours, textures, shapes and sizes, it is tasty, full of minerals, fibre without calories and is the best salt substitute. It is a very informative event, with activities suitable for all to enjoy including talks, craft activities, demonstrations and workshops.
31st May-2nd June: Flavour Fest, Plymouth
Foodie fans are in for a treat this year as Flavour Fest will be returning to Plymouth from 31st May-2nd June 2024. Known as the South West’s largest free food and drink festival, it features hundreds of local producers selling tasty treats and a chef stage with regional cookery stars showcasing their skills.
14th-16th June: Exeter Street Food Festival
The first Exeter Street Food Festival is heading to Northernhay Gardens this June with over 25 of the best local and national street food traders serving up cuisines from across the world in the heart of the city centre. Expect three days of great food, refreshing drinks, live entertainment and fun for all the family!
27th July: The Mid Devon Show
Get ready for a rip-roaring time as you soak up the best of rural Mid Devon! With a mix of dazzling entertainment, scrumptious food, unique shopping, live music, vibrant horticulture, and a peek into farm life, the Mid Devon Show is the ultimate celebration of all things Devon at Knightshayes .
28th July: Totnes & District Show
The Totnes Show is over 100 years old and one of the biggest shows in the county. Foodie highlights include a food & drink village and a chef demonstration kitchen.
31st July: Yealmpton Agricultural Show
From a Countryside Marquee to a wide variety of exhibitors and local producers, cakes and handicraft to diggers and tractors, there is plenty at Yealmpton Show for everyone regardless of age to enjoy.
1st Aug: Honiton Show
The show has a unique atmosphere blending traditional and new where its emphasis is agriculture and its associated activities first and foremost. It is a showcase for the best of local farming, produce, crafts and rural skills.
7th Aug: North Devon Agricultural Show
The North Devon Show is a traditional one day show and is a celebration of all things rural and has something for everyone. The main aim of the show is to support agriculture and to provide a shop window for anyone involved in the economy of North Devon.
8th Aug: Okehampton Show
Set on the northern edge of the beautiful Dartmoor National Park, this traditional agricultural show boasts a wide range of prize winning animals, delicious local food & drink, plenty of shopping, displays, childrens’ entertainment and much more.
7th Sept: Kingsbridge Agricultural Show
With its far-reaching views of gentle rolling South Hams countryside down towards the sea, visitors will enjoy many attractions, not least the exhibition of livestock and horse classes, home craft and horticulture sections too. There is a food & drink tent where exhibitors offer a variety of locally produced foods to create your own picnic.
10th Sept: Ottery Food and Families Festival
Back for its 10th year after a short break, Ottery Food Fest is a free entry, volunteer-led celebration of everything food and drink in East Devon, sharing wonderful local producers, products and chefs.
14th September: Ashburton Food Festival
Embracing community, sustainability and local flavour, the 2024 Food Festival in the heart of the town will feature lots of local artisan vendors, ticketed workshops, music and entertainment and plenty of places to meet and socialise, and enjoy some Ashburton hospitality.
14th-22nd Sept: Taste East Devon Festival
East Devon’s best producers, chefs, restaurants and venues join forces each September to create the Taste East Devon Festival, showcasing the best that our region has to offer in a series of unique food and drink experiences. From farm feasts to brewery open days, seafood tasting experiences to BBQs and parties: some events are ticketed, some are open freely for all.
19th-22nd Sept: Abbfest
Every year Abbfest hosts a wonderful weekend full of live music, locally produced beer and cider, chef demonstrations and a food & craft market full of local artisan producers. At Isaac’s Field next to Fermoy’s Garden Centre. Newton Abbot.
5th-6th Oct: Powderham Food Festival
Showcasing the region’s best food and drink producers, Powderham Food Festival is one you don’t want to miss.
October: RHS Garden Rosemoor Festival of Flavours
Celebrate the bounty of autumn and the apple harvest at RHS Garden Rosemoor. At the Festival of Flavours, pick up ideas from cookery demos, expert talks and garden tours, and shop for treats in the food and craft market. Get in the festival mood with live music, campfire cooking and more.
25th-27th Oct: Dartmouth Food Festival
Having grown from humble beginnings in 2002 into a first class feast of entertainment featuring workshops, seminars, tastings, competitions, demonstrations and over 120 hand-picked exhibitors (70% of which are from Devon), it truly is the very best that the South West has to offer.
