This autumn Brixham Gin have been experimenting with some new local ingredients.
Produced in their Old Sail Loft overlooking Brixham, their small batch gins are limited edition whilst the fruit is in season – in this case rosy crab apples!
Meet Colonel Crumble – their affectionate name for the late Colonel whose garden and plentiful tree supplied the crab apples for this very special limited edition. The fresh crab apples are the star of the show here, but the accompanying botanicals have been picked to emulate the Colonel’s favourite dessert – apple crumble!
What to expect?
Distilled with cinnamon and apple, the gin is then steeped over freshly cut crab apples, picked by hand from the Colonel’s garden. They add no colours or flavours to ensure a natural and authentic taste, true to a traditional apple crumble.
You can expect a full and rich flavour with warming apples, cloves and nutmeg complimenting the aromatic juniper. An overall balanced gin with a sweet cinnamon nose and balance of carefully selected local botanicals.
No apple crumble namesake would be complete without a mouthwatering vanilla custard finish. A limited edition gin that the Colonel himself would be proud to drink!
Colonel Crumble – Local Crab Apple Gin will be available exclusively at The Bottle Shop Brixham, in the distillery and online at www.brixhamgin.com
