Luscombe Drinks and Owens Coffee named as finalists in national BOOM Awards

The Soil Association Certification BOOM Awards, the UK’s only organic awards, have announced their 2023 shortlist with two outstanding South Devon producers emerging as top contenders.

Buckfastleigh’s Luscombe Drinks and Ivybridge’s Owens Coffee have both been recognised for their commitment to excellence in the organic sector as finalists in the ‘Best of Organic Non-Alcoholic Drinks’ category.

Luscombe’s Hot Ginger Beer and Owens Coffee’s Jabulani, Romero and Tunki are all up against the finest the organic non-alcoholic drinks market has to offer, having made it through to the final nine.

The BOOM Awards celebrate those who are working hard to produce the best possible organic products, as well as recognising innovation and highlighting the extra level of care and attention organic producers have to take to produce high-quality food and drink meeting rigorous organic standards.

Having already faced a thorough judging process by a professional panel of industry judges, the category winner will be announced at the BOOM Awards’ ceremony on the 5th July, in Bristol, the home of the Soil Association.

The Soil Association’s Certification Commercial and Marketing Director, Alex Cullen commented:

“Farming is the major global driver of emissions and habitat destruction – even larger than aviation.  Organic production offers vital solutions for climate and nature, which is why we’re so excited to see producers like Luscombe and Owens Coffee getting excellent results.  It’s this drive to innovate that means the organic sector remains resilient despite market challenges.”
