Please allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Shepherd Shack, borne out of knowing that we do food REALLY well, we established ourselves under Executive Chef Scott Harrison-Jones in Autumn 2019. Yup, right before Lockdown…
However, Lockdown allowed us to turn our hand to set up a fresh ‘cook at home’ takeaway service for local villages and hamlets in and around the Powderham and Ashcombe estates. Not wasting opportunities, we set up our outdoor dining experience, The Woodland Kitchen, on the Ashcombe Estate – a fine dining experience set amongst woodland with views over the estate and down the valley towards the mouth of the River Exe, incidentally, where the principal ingredients in the dishes were sourced from. A missed delivery led to the opportunity to supply our local farm shop with a few deli items, which further led to the development of our whole line supplied to farm shops and delis across the South East of Devon.
At the core of it all, Chef Scott’s belief and desire to use local foods and showcase them in their most fabulous form – be it a fine dining experience or a pork pie in your pocket for lunch, you’ll find 25 years of high-end chef experience, love and passion for food in each bite.
So, in a nutshell, that’s Shepherd Shack. Good local food cooked REALLY well!
