The bunting is out and the teams are celebrating at Bayards Cove Inn, Dartmouth and its little sister, Bayards Kitchen at the Cider Press Centre, Dartington after scoring double gold success at the Taste of the West awards.

The former was given the top award in the Restaurant category, while Bayards Kitchen earned its gong in the Casual Dining section.

The judges at both venues highlighted the inspired variety of local seasonal dishes and the quality of service.

Owners Charlie and Zuzana Deuchar said: “We are over the moon at receiving these awards which are testament to the value we place on local provenance and how we really shout loud about how we source our food and drink, using Devon-Based  producers and growers as far as possible.

“But more than that, the awards are a reflection of the great teams we have at both venues and we are so grateful to them. It’s been an extraordinarily busy and difficult season but every day they step up, delivering first class food and superb service. These awards are for them.”

The judges feedback for Bayards Cove Inn included: “A great visit and a worthy gold winner. We had a delightful evening at Bayard’s Cove Inn.  The food was absolutely gorgeous, with an inspirational variety of local seasonal dishes to suit all tastes and requirements!  The excellent service really helped to ensure that we had a memorable evening.”

At Bayards Kitchen the judges commented: “The food was delicious, with good quality, locally sourced fresh ingredients used.  All the dishes were well presented in the counter area and looked appetising and the menu offered plenty of choice, with a selection of seasonal dishes, including gluten free and vegan.”
