Devon Rum Co. Wins Three Great Taste Awards

After months of waiting for the results to be revealed, Devon Rum Co. is excited to announce that it has been honoured with three Great Taste Awards!

The brand’s Premium Spiced, Honey Spiced, and Premium Golden rums were each awarded with a Great Taste Star, placing them in the top 25% of UK food and drink producers that entered the prestigious awards.

“As the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme, the 2022 Great Taste Awards provided us with the perfect opportunity to pit our amazing craft spirits against more than 14,000 of the UK’s finest food and drink producers,” said Head of Marketing Brad Wicks.

“Being honoured with three One Star Great Taste Awards and placing within the top 25% of entries is a very proud moment for our brand.  The accolades also reinforce the quality of our rums and sit nicely alongside the trio of Taste of the West Gold Awards we collected earlier this year.

“We’re incredibly humbled by the experience and can’t thank the Great Taste’s panel of expert judges enough for their accreditation and kind comments.”

Premium Spiced Rum

“Great complexity, both on the nose and in the glass. Wonderful layers of flavour, with stacks of character. One of the judges said they could smell it for hours – and they did! The finish and the length were great.”

 Honey Spiced Rum

“A rich and rewarding spirit that judges enjoyed immensely neat with the floral sweetness and peppery spice combining very well. Notes of cardamom come across distinctively, maybe a little bit ahead of the other spices, but with a pleasant result and almost completely balanced by the honey sweetness in the background.”

Premium Golden Rum

“Delicious, rounded, enticing caramel notes on the nose. This is an easy drinking rum with enjoyable hints of toasted oak. We got hints of banana and caramel too.”
