Weeke Barton

A traditional Dartmoor house, made of stone and cob, this Grade 2 Listed building oozes soul and has tales to tell. Think muted tones with the occasional bursts of colour, exposed beams, granite fireplaces. It ticks all the boxes. We are surrounded by the Teign Valley with its rolling hills, woodland and pastures. Look up at night and you feel you can touch the stars.

We have 6 gorgeous en suite rooms all with sheep-skinned window seats and views over the garden and surrounding countryside. Lounge and dining room both have wood-burning stoves for plenty of cosy time. The property boasts a snug bar - great for entertaining and playing host, Wi-fi throughout, flat screens for movies (no TV signal) in every bedroom and a Sonos music system throughout downstairs.

The dining room has individual slatetopped table for each room. With a woodturning stove and direct access to the garden patio it’s the perfect spot for a relaxed breakfast where we serve delicious locally-sourced, mostly organic and freshly prepared food. The bar with its low ceilings, snug layout, wooden panelling and cosy seating, has an honesty bar which is fully loaded. Bio-dynamic wines selected for their flavour and provenance, English sparkling wine from next doors vineyard, Dartmoor botanical Gin and Dorset Vodka and fine Scotch whiskies, with our first bottle of Dartmoor Whiskey on its way. Plus all the bits you need to shake your own martini or two. This is also where you will find the film library. The lounge has Sunday afternoon sofas and armchairs, a roaring fire, books and magazines, skins and cushions. Need we say more.

The house is set in 5 acres of its own gardens and field. Venture out and you will find a Petanque pitch, cosy corner with outdoor wood burning stove and lighting - the perfect place to watch the amazing night skies. Grab a deck chair from the house and find your perfect spot and while away an afternoon in the peace and quiet. There is a large outside patio for alfresco breakfasts always a perfect way to start the day. Tucked away at the bottom of the garden lies a homemade den set by a small stream, just waiting to be discovered.

With wild adventures and walks right from the door, the High Moor and the coast no more than 30 mins away, let us look after you, your friends or family in style in a truly beautiful location.

Dogs are very welcome, they can share your room but please keep them off the beds.
