Tuesday 14 March saw the Food Drink Devon team and twenty members of our fabulous community head to London to share the best of Devon produce and hospitality at the Houses of Parliament.

We were proud to organise the Taste of Devon showcase  at the invitation of Anthony Mangnall, MP for Totnes and South Devon.

We invited Food Drink Devon members from around the county based on the nature of the business, location and whether they were among our top award winners in 2022, in order to achieve a delicious and balanced selection – including a fantastic cream tea of course – which demonstrated the quality, sustainability, provenance and sheer breadth of produce available from our amazing Devon larder.

We only wish we could have taken more! But as this looks like this may become an annual event, we hope to have many more opportunities to share an even wider range of products and hospitality venues in the capital.

We took award-winning cheeses, cider, spirits, chocolate, kefir, charcuterie, coffee, crackers, smoked fish, scotch eggs, ice cream, hot sauces, seaweed caviar, cocktails, scones, jam and clotted cream and more.

Thanks to our enthusiastic producers for making the trip; to Orchardlea Foods for helping with the complex logistics of getting so much Devon produce to London, to Hallett’s Bakery for baking the delicious scones for our cream tea and to Anthony Mangnall MP and his team.

We were SO popular on Tuesday we kept hearing that this was the best-attended event of it’s type anyone had ever seen!
