To celebrate Garden Week, Shilstone House near Modbury will be hosting their first Garden Weekend. Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th May 10.30am – 4.00pm.
Here’s what you can enjoy over the weekend in the beautiful surroundings of Shilstone House and gardens.
Wood fired BBQ
Enjoy delicious wood-fired BBQs in the Cafe Courtyard, as well as the chance to explore the Gardens and Walks in full spring bloom with our new wild flower trail.
Gardens and Walks
Wander through the terraced garden, take a moment to enjoy the views of the rolling fields, meander through the valley with the ponds and rills.
Wildflower Hunt
Or you could take part in the Wildflower Hunt which will take you through the Gardens and into the bluebell woods, discovering the swathes of Bluebells in full bloom in the woods. Following the hunt visit the café for a wildflower surprise.
House and Garden Tour
If you would like to know more about the gardens and house, Lucy the owner of Shilstone will be hosting a House and Garden Tour over the weekend. She will guide you through the House including some of the private rooms, and will explain our restoration story and its history as well as show you the garden that she has designed and planted.
Sunday Lunch in the Mughal Marquee
In celebration of Garden Weekend the Walled Garden welcomes back Sunday Lunch in our Mughal Marquee for the summer ahead. Enjoy traditional Sunday Lunch, with surrounded by the Gardens and rolling fields in the valley below. Begin your afternoon with a cocktail in the Garden before wandering into the marquee for a delicious selection of roast meats, spring vegetables, a vegetarian option and desserts.
