Bottled cocktail company BarBuoy has unveiled a brand refresh that includes an updated logo as well as new look packaging.

The rebrand, which has been rolled out across the entire range, was carried out to enhance brand recognition, ensure visual strength in both retail and hospitality settings, as well as give clear and simple product descriptions and serving suggestions to the end customer.

“Our products are relatively new in the drinks market and so one of our challenges is to convey some important information about their use whilst at the same time looking visually appealing to consumers,” says Ria Ball.  “The vibrancy and clarity of our refreshed packaging does this perfectly at the same time as showing off the fun side of our brand.  We’ve already had a very positive reaction to it and we’re excited to see how it impacts our growth.”

The BarBuoy logo, which now uses a bolder font with a new icon at the end, draws on inspiration from ships flags and specifically, the ships flag that represents “B for Bravo”, or B for BarBuoy.  “This clever bit of design really helps make our identity unique, and the hidden meaning gives a lovely story to tell people about too,” continues Ria.

After receiving advice from experts within the packaging industry, Tim and Ria took their new design concept to local design business Copyrite in Exmouth who then rolled out the update across all product lines.  Vale Labels were appointed to handle the printing using sustainable materials, and Exeter based Studio Illicit updated the BarBuoy website.

As well as the rebrand there are also new products available including two new cocktails and two new bottle sizes.

A Passion Fruit Martini (crafted with TORS Vodka, passion fruit liqueur, passion fruit, vanilla and lime) and a Raspberry Daiquiri (crafted with Two Drifters Pure White Rum, TORS Vodka raspberry liqueur, raspberry and lime) now sit firmly on the BarBuoy menu and are already available to purchase online.

Additionally, each cocktail now comes in the existing 20cl and 1L bottles as well as a brand new 10cl single serving bottle and a new 50cl 5-serving bottle.

“The 10cl bottles are perfect for retailers and hotel mini bars (RRP £4.95) whilst the 50cl bottles are ideal for retailers to offer as a sharing bottle (RRP £18.95) as well as for smaller hospitality venues to use instead of the 1L bottles, which require higher volumes,”  says Tim Ball.

“These updates now give us a range of 12 cocktails that cover all spirits and taste buds and that are available in four different bottle sizes to suit both retail and hospitality needs.”

The final piece in the puzzle for behind the scenes development at BarBuoy has been r&d including a new production bottling and filtration production system.  Tim continues “Our new offering not only looks fantastic but the cocktails taste better than ever.  We’re really excited to start shouting about our new look as well as the products, and by investing in these key areas now we’ve set ourselves up to enable growth for the rest of the year.”

The full range of BarBuoy Cocktails are available to buy at www.barbuoy.co.uk and select lines are available in retailers across Devon.
