After two years disrupted by covid restrictions, Food Drink Devon can not wait to explore Devon’s host of fabulous food fairs and shows. Here’s a list of our favourites.

1st May: Salcombe Crab Fest

Crabfest is not just an excellent opportunity for seafood lovers to get together and crack open some fine tasting crabs. More than that, Crabfest has become a vibrant showcase for the local fishing, food, drink and tourism industries at the heart of the unique area.

Enjoy hands-on cookery demonstrations by award-winning chefs, crab picking masterclasses, crab pot making, live music, kids activities and much more!

1st May, 6th Jun, 1st Jul, 5th Aug, 2nd Sept: Seaton Eats Boutique

13th May, 10th Jun, 8th Jul, 12th Aug, 9th Sept: Sidmouth Eats Boutique

Seaton and Sidmouth Eats Boutique are two events brought to you by Unique Boutique Events. They are evening street food markets in the heart of the Jurassic coast. Drink in the landscape, nourish your friendships and taste the world on a Friday evening in the summer months. From 4pm until sunset.

27th – 29th May: Flavour Fest, Plymouth

Foodie fans are in for a treat this year as Flavour Fest will be returning to Plymouth from 27 to 29 May 2022. Known as the South West’s largest free food and drink festival, it features hundreds of local producers selling tasty treats and a chef stage with regional cookery stars showcasing their skills.

29th May: Clovelly Seaweed Festival

Seaweed Festival is held to promote seaweed for its immense health and nutritional benefits. In a multitude of colours, textures, shapes and sizes, it is tasty, full of minerals, fibre without calories and is the best salt substitute.

It is a very informative event, with activities suitable for all to enjoy.  Such as “Know your Seaweed” talks by Emma Gunn, craft activities and workshops with Artycrafts and Sciencedipity (make your own seaweed slime). The Seaweed Health Foundation will provide information and a talk on the benefits of seaweed for food and health. Adam Reeve, who forages local seaweed, will do a seaweed gel demonstration and foraging talk.  Also, there will be a cooking demonstration by Zoe Sing from Ebb Tides.

30th Jun – 2nd Jul: Devon County Show

During this spectacular three day show, visitors will be treated to the best of food, farming and entertainment!

Farming is at the very heart of the Show – stock men and women from the county and beyond are competing in the show ring with impressive agricultural machinery and outstanding suppliers showcasing.

Thousands of animals will be showcased with an incredible line up of competitions – from exceptional livestock to dazzling Arab horses, family ponies and canine superstars competing in the pedigree Dog Show.

16th – 18th Sept: Exeter Foodies Festival

The Exeter Foodies Festival 2022 is taking place at Escot Park, on 16th – 18th September – the biggest celebration yet of top chefs, tasty food, delicious drinks and live music.

17th – 19th Sept: Abbfest

Every year Abbfest hosts a wonderful weekend full of live music, locally produced beer & cider, chef demonstrations and a food & craft market full of local artisan producers
